Unsun

UnSun was a Polish band created by guitarist Maurycy "Mauser" Stefanowicz (Vader) in 2006 featuring the vocals of his wife, Anna "Aya" Stefanowicz. They released two full-length works, The End of Life and Clinic for Dolls. The plan was to get into the studio and release a third, but Anna was experiencing a condition that affected her vocal cords.

UnSunAs late4 as 2014, it looke dlike her condition was improving, and that the band might begin recording record #3 and go on tour. Finally, in 2016, Anna announced on the band's website that the condition affecting her vocal cords was not getting better and would require "surgery in the neck/spine area" and that they'd decided to break up the band.

On Rock Rips, "Whispers" went to #1 for 3 weeks in 2010, followed by "Bring me to Heaven" which also reached #1 for 5 weeks! Both songs were heavy with bass and rhythm, and the influence of Goth metal. In 2012, "Home" spent a week at the top of the chart. Their fourth and final chart appearance was the title track from Clinic for Dolls, which made it to #19. Four songs, three #1s, 9 weeks at the top - I can only imagine what they would be doing now if things had worked out differently. Touring with Nightwish or Within Temptation, no doubt. Today, Anna and Mauser have two children, and Mauser is back with death metal band Vader. Aya has a website where she sells her artwork, and it's fantastic! Check it out at https://artowo.com/
