Geoff Castellucci

Geoff CastellucciOne of my fave things to find online are great bass singers. Geoff Castellucci is one of the first I've found. He started off as a member of a capella group VoicePlay (which he's still a part of) but he's got his own channel and following now (905,000 subscribers at the time of this article). I think what attracts people to Geoff other than his exquisite voice (and for women his good looks) are that he seems like a very real person, the sort of guy you could go out for a beer with, have over for a barbecue, you know!

But let's face it - it's his incredible range that gets us. Not just how low he can go - very low - but also his upper register. With a range of four octaves, he easily moves between what most would consider a normal singing voice and that incredible low that he can rech with growls or sub-harmonics. If you're interested, he has a video that can help you try it yourself! He also explains about vocal fry... Of course, let's not forget to mention hs hair. Geoff has some incredible long hair. If you're like me, you'll probably follow his advice to see if you can sing that low, and I did! Believe me when I tell you, when I hit one of those sub-harmonics in the car, my daughter got this look of amazement and respect on her face that made it all worth it.

Check out Geoff's YouTube page and check out his personal website here: Geoff Castellucci.com/.

I think my favorite solo piece of Geoff's is his cover of the "Monster Mash" in which his wife makes a cameo as the undead woman, and feature examples of all of his range. His wife, by the way, is deaf and wears hearing aids. Don't forget to look at his work with VoicePlay! His low on Oogie Boogie's Song is not to be missed.
