2018 in ReviewIn 2018, US bands made quite a comeback! A new band - The Damn Truth, made it to #1 for the year with their impassioned cover of U2's "Love is Blindness. It's only the second time in Rock Rips history that a remake has been #1 for the year. The last time was in 2010, when Elis did it with "I Come Undone." This year's songs break down like so: US 20; Netherlands 3; Bulgaria 3; Finland 3; Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Multi-National, Sweden, Australia, Belgium and Norway 2; and 1 each for Russia, Romania, Germany, UK, Japan, Serbia, and Greece.Sevi (#13, #15, #16) placed 3 songs on our year-end chart again, and so did Eva Under Fire (#14, #24, #29). Several acts scored two hits each on the top 50: Cellar Darling, Evanescence, Skillet, Exit Eden, The Dark Element, Amaranthe, Anaria, In This Moment, and Minniva with Quentin Cornet. |
