Rock Rips
Top 20 of 2000 (Sept 23-Dec 31)

Seven Canadian bands made it to the end-of-year wrap-up; the rest are American. Keep in mind that this list represents a partial year from September 23rd through December 31 only, and includes all songs that entered the chart before the cut-off date. Only weeks actually charted were included, so songs assumed to have already been on Rock Rips at its inception have been ranked lower than they might if a full run had been possible to determine.

How are ranks determined? It's simple math. Reversing the order of the positions gives us a value we can assign to each position. So a week at #5 = 16 points and a week at #16 = 5 points. Therefore, a song that went from #19 to #17 to #17 to #20 would count as 2+4+4+1, which equals 11.
